Advantages of joining FMT for Citizens and Businesses
- Increase in local liquidity: Joining allows for an increase in the volume of voluntary currency among Citizens and local Businesses, encouraging greater circulation of money and exchange opportunities within the territory.
- Simplified access to local markets: The platform makes it easier to search for and access products and services from the area, replacing some imports with local suppliers and boosting the economy of the Free Territory of Trieste with about 300,000 Citizens.
- Bonuses and incentives for members: Registered members receive discounts, affiliation bonuses, and the ability to use complementary Triestine currencies, increasing purchasing power for Citizens with the 10,000 local Businesses and creating local employment opportunities without the need for long commutes.
Disadvantages of joining FMT for Citizens and Businesses
- Limitations for non-residents: The main benefits, such as the Citizenship Income, are reserved for residents of the Free Territory of Trieste; those living outside cannot access this provision and only benefit from other smaller bonuses.
- Obligation to accept complementary currencies: Participants in the network must accept, at least in part and with a percentage they choose, the Triestine crypto-currencies, which may complicate relations with external suppliers and customers who are not part of the system.
- Possible liquidity and acceptance difficulties: As this is a local circuit alternative to the official system, the spread and acceptance of the crypto-currencies may be limited, reducing ease of conversion and the impact outside the Free Territory of Trieste.
